Good article, all true. Though when you say that "Being truthful is so much harder than lying", I have to disagree. Lying is a larger stress on the brain because it's harder for the brain to make something up by using what information is in their memory and connecting it on a solid base than it is to recollect memories of events or thoughts that have actually happened.

In addition, and it goes with what you said, people who lie compulsively eventually have their lies and stories intertwine, creating stuff that doesn't add up and can come falling down. Not just on a social level with other people, it also affects the mind individually. Since lies have to be created out of memories we already have (because our memories form up the pictures, sounds, feelings that go into the lie), someone who lies frequently can tie the wrong things to actual memories, memories that intertwine with other lies and other memories. They essentially lose a sense of reality.

Hi Joanne, thanks for your kind words about writing a book, I'm working on it :) You are right about depression being the 'absence of hope', it's finding the hope again that's the main issue, and something we have to work on everyday.

Hi Steven.

There are a lot of winning points here.

I sure agree about Eben Pagan's material and position as a mentor. He knows a lot, and presents it smoothly.

I guess we have to remind ourselves about our treasures like you said. I get disappointed when I focus on what I don't have. I don't really enjoy that feeling.

Good call about the neighbors. That is another issue I have had. In fact, you hit on a lot of valid issues in this article. Who cares what neighbors are doing, right? As long as they don't bother us, their ideas are not of our concern.

I keep looking back at the post and seeing solid point after solid point. Helping others achieve their dream is yet another one of those counter-intuitive things that makes us glad to be around, and builds up our self-esteem, so we do better at our own material.

A pleasure to read.

Great stuff and all so very logical, however lately this information, not all, but bits of it I have been sharing with others because everyone around me is so stressed out. I am such a positive person, but most people around me have not been as of late, and understandably so; due to various problems in their lives. I have major problems in my life right now, but I have hope, and I do not ever care what the neighbors think. As we know depression is the absence of hope, so find hope, etc.

I am writing you now because I feel you need to make a major book out of this information. I think by doing so it will help more people than you could possibly imagine. This world needs to be told how to live a great life; most people even with their fancy degrees do not know how to do this; so write a book…..
